When my allotment yields plenty of rhubarb one of the first things i do is make something alcoholic.This is my go to recipe from Sarah Raven.You can serve as a frozen shot, or as a longer drink with tonic. Cheers!
Ingredients
- 500 g rhubarb cut into chunks
- 250 g caster sugar
- 4 cm piece of fresh ginger peeled and sliced
- 6 long pieces of orange peel from 2 oranges
- 1 750ml bottle of vodka

Instructions
- Put the rhubarb, sugar, ginger and orange peel into a 1-litre Kilner jar and pour in the bottle of vodka.
- Screw on the lid and put into a cupboard for 1 month, turning it upside down every other day.
- When ready, strain into a bottle. Now its time to start making your next batch.
