Pear and Stilton Salad (2)

  1. Wipe the pears and cut into quarters . Remove the core before cutting into thick slices. Squeeze lemon juice over the fruit to stop it going brown.
  2. Heat the oil in a large shallow pan then add the pear slices. Scatter over the walnuts. Cook the pears, turning once, until golden and sizzling.
  3. Divide the salad leaves between two plates and then using a slotted spoon put the pears and walnuts on top.
  4. Crumble the cheese into small pieces about the size of a walnut half and acatter over the hot pears.
  5. Squeeze any remaining lemon juice into the pan and stir well to scrape any residue left by the pears. Drizzle over the cheese and serve immediately.
